ok, so, my brother is really into battling. im not because it can get loud but my father says i should battle with him to build character so i sort of have to do it. i only have Tess, my kricketot. my brother has a luxio and stunky. i dont think theres much i can do with that matchup, but maybe someone here has ideas? should i think about getting another pokemon?

sorry only got to see this now. Tess only knows growl and tackle. i know she would probably learn more moves if we battled more but i really try to avoid it if i can...

I can help you train. Then you can duel your brother, defeat him soundly, and threaten him with further humiliation if he ever bothers you again. Then once you are powerful enough you can do the same to your father.
Edit: My friend says I should not be offering to train strangers on the Internet. They also said if you really can't get your dad off your case, you should try catching a ground type so you can have the type advantage against your brother.

Unfortunately, your krikitot would be fighting an uphill battle- it’s unfair of your family to expect this of you, especially if your brother has been training and Tess has not. Kirakira is right- a ground type would really swing things in your favor, but a second Pokémon is a big commitment, and it’s not always the best option for someone, and ground types can get quite large, and some quite destructive. I would suggest a wooper.

Dunsparce wouldn’t be a bad choice either! But they can be hard to find
